And even a lot of your history posts seem like stories (which means you remind me of the one history teacher I had whose class I actually liked).

Been meaning to ask for a while: what got you into the whole storytelling gig anyway? The Woeful Budgiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00940543617741545988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375512083268389933.post-82630792946894428152009-09-14T14:26:11.083-05:002009-09-14T14:26:11.083-05:00The Cerulean Amphibian has pretty much said what I...The Cerulean Amphibian has pretty much said what I was going to say as well.big anoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375512083268389933.post-62210022229862257292009-09-14T13:15:52.227-05:002009-09-14T13:15:52.227-05:00I'm with bluefrog.I'm with bluefrog.GailVortexnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375512083268389933.post-41279573122154788952009-09-14T12:10:50.904-05:002009-09-14T12:10:50.904-05:00So forget about After the Flood. I'd much rather read about the legend of the two dragons than After the Flood, anyway. There's no writing yourself into a corner---it's your blog. Or you could not write at all, but I'd really miss reading your thoughts.bluefrognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375512083268389933.post-40748234878376400412009-09-14T11:41:35.979-05:002009-09-14T11:41:35.979-05:00For what it's worth, I've liked the AtF po...For what it's worth, I've liked the AtF posts. Yeah, the excerpts from Cooper are sort of painful...but for me, that's mostly because a good chunk of my education was fairly, uh...Conservapedian. AtF seems like something that would have come highly recommended by any of my history teachers, if that tells you anything. So it kind of trips my indoctrination sensors (though at this point, I think that's a good thing. I'm at a place where it doesn't throw me into a mental/emotional tailspin anymore. Further proof that I've hardened my heart against God, I suppose).

Anyway, I'm no historian, nor do I plan to become one, so it's nice to have someone pointing out not just "this is bullshit", but "this is bullshit, and here's why."

So thanks for that.

I do get what you mean, though, about being tired of talking about the whole deconversion thing. I think you can only process so much before you have to move on. As I've grown more comfortable with my lack of faith, and just with myself in general, it seems to have become less central. Things may still crop up from time to time, but it's no longer on the forefront of my mind. I'm more likely to be thinking about music or my garden or my next art project or a trip to the beach. Which is good, I think. Part of the reason I left Christianity is that I wanted my life back. Seems that's working out well. The Woeful Budgiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00940543617741545988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375512083268389933.post-47247793305875335202009-09-14T10:21:14.021-05:002009-09-14T10:21:14.021-05:00Man: earning his place on the evolutionary ladder ...Man: earning his place on the evolutionary ladder by being the craziest mofo on the planet.PersonalFailurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03034292023591747601noreply@blogger.com
