A Ken By Any Other Name...

I was poking around the internets when I found a link to this YouTube video of a lecture by Ken Miller, a biologist and professor at Brown University. It's a two-hour video, but it's utterly fascinating. (I went in to it thinking it was a little over ten minutes, then realized that 11:71 isn't a count of time according to anybody.) Anyway, it's a wonderfully accessible lecture on the nature of the science v. Intelligent Design argument. It's definitely worth sticking around until about the half-hour mark when he begins to completely deconstruct the "Irreducible Complexity" concept. Right around the 50 minute to one hour mark he begins ripping apart the political nature of the ID movement. It's good stuff. I've just kept it running in the background while working on other stuff and clicking over occasionally if I want to pay closer attention. Also, the last forty minutes or so are a Q&A segment, so take whatever you want from that...
