I'm (Probably) Not Dead
So y’all may or may not have noticed that it’s Monday night. Which means that yesterday was Sunday. And there was no AtF to be had anywhere all up in this here blog.
I also notice a distinct lack of public hue and cry and absolutely no outrage about that little fact. And you know what that means? Next week will be all AtF, all the time. I don’t know who I’m punishing. I don’t know why I’m punishing them, but you’d better believe I’m punishing someone.
Anyway, I’m not dead. At least, I don’t think I am. I can always be wrong.
It’s, um, it’s been an eventful week. There was family stuff that had to be dealt with and took up lots of time. My new friend Sarah Peacock was in town on Friday, so I had to wander off and see her (and, seriously, Chicago, you can do better than that. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about). She’s managed to catapult to the only person I personally know who I’ve seen on nationally broadcast television, so that’s kinda cool. Even if it was for all of thirty seconds on a TV on mute.
Not surprisingly, though, my attention for the last couple of days was focused on the Fox Valley Folk and Storytelling Festival. I’ll probably have a lot to write about over the next couple of days (except Thursday, when I’ll be on a business trip. To Toledo, Ohio. Yay, Toledo!). Right now, though, I’m really friggin’ tired.
So, um, I just thought I’d let everyone know I’m not dead. Not that I thought anyone was worried or anything. It just helps me feel important to feel like I have to announce my continued habit of being alive.
Oh, and next Saturday, September 12th will be a good night. Stage Left Café in Woodstock, IL. Seven o’clock. Ghost Stories. Two words. Good times. Sentences longer than two words.

Glad you're not dead, though I suspect Chicago can't do any better. Either that or you didn't pay enough to get its attention. Ten months I've been back and it's like an expensive, slow, loud exercise in spalled concrete with a few museums sprinkled in to lure the tourists.
Harsh. Is this a bad time to point out that I'm actually a rather big fan of Chicago? Apparently it's the most stressful city in the country, but I don't find it too worrying.
Anyway, the story is that she was at the Beat Kitchen, which is one of my favorite small venues. There weren't too many people at the Beat Kitchen, which kind of surprised me. I mean, I was surprised. Apparently everybody's getting drunk at home these days.
Woo! More After the Flood! Let's hope *that* doesn't kill you...
Sniffroy, at his rate of Whiskey Sour consumption in order to do After The Flood, it probably will.
Thankfully, Geds is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of Science!(tm)
Reading your commentary of AtF is one of the major reasons I read this blog. It would be great if you increased the frequency.
On the other hand, that might start giving you liver problems after a while. :)
Do it. I need something to cheer me up right now, and your liver is a small sacrifice for me to make. (Also I trust you to be ultimately rather sensible, s there. :p )
