So I've Made a Decision

After much arm twisting from Big A (and by "much" I mean "none" and "arm twisting" I mean "he suggested something I was already thinking of doing), I've decided it's time to call the Second Somewhat Irregular Meeting Type-Thing of the Accidental Historian Appreciation Society, Dallas Area Chapter.  On the off-chance you haven't been paying attention and can't possibly guess where and when that could possibly be, there's a strong chance that I'm suggesting that y'all might want to go to a place I've already said I'm going to be.  Give up?  Okay.

Show up at Trinity Hall Dallas some time around 8:30 on Saturday, March 27th.  I can practically guarantee you that there'll be some good Irish folk there who are at least 43% more interesting than me.  And if you get there earlier, there might be an opportunity for food and conversation and whatnot.  Maybe even a magic show.  Y'know, assuming someone in the building is a magician.  I sure as hell ain't.

Oh, and they appear to have a fine list of whiskeys.  Not to mention the only beer list I've seen in Texas with Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA.  Honestly, I'm about as close as I can get to dubbing this place Brixie's South without actually having visited yet.  If only they could find me some Two Brothers or Metropolitan...

Anyway, yeah.  That thing I mentioned about going to the place seems like a good idea.  To me.  Right now.

Oh, and to the guy at Trinity Hall who found me the last time I mentioned the place: don't get too excited.  I'm not particularly well-appreciated.

Either that or I am, but just not by many people.  One of those.

The biggest downside to Trinity Hall that I'm aware of is that while their beer list is extensive it is: A. all expensive, and B. almost all bottled.

If it's variety ON DRAFT that you want, I'm pretty sure the Saucer or the Gingerman are the places to be.

Hmm. That's gonna be a mark against the ol' Brixie's South label...

Of course the Flying Saucer would be the most likely to get a Brixie's South label, except it's actually too big for that. That's more Map Room South or something. I shall still have to check out this Gingerman of which you speak, though.

On the upside however your bottled beer was opened just for you, and not a slow demand keg that has been tapped for a week, with your pint sitting in the line waiting for its chance to be poured! We enjoy G-Man and Saucer & they do a great job with their draft lists, Trinity Hall is just a different take, we'll look forward to seeing, & serving you both, on 27th!

Tasty! I'll see if I can make arrangements with the wife - or con my parents into taking Firstborn overnight - so I can get in on this beer & music goodness, too.

That's a valid point. As I was recently reminded of while drinking a this-doesn't-taste-right Sam Adams White at TGI Friday's last week.

I'll be there.

Woohoo! And then there were a minimum of three with the real possibility of four!

Looks like a minimum of four. Wife is having a hen party, and wants me out of the house anyway, and Small Boy will be staying overnight with his grandparents. Woot!
