So my sister and brother-in-law are coming down to Dallas next weekend to say hello.
I'm planning on taking them to the Amsterdam Bar on Saturday night. That's the Amsterdam Bar at 831 Exposition in Dallas, TX, for the record. Anyone who wants to swing by is more than welcome.
Also, my birthday visit to the Doublewide was a smashing success. I discovered that James, also known as the lead singer of the Lost Immigrants, has discovered my blog and the lovely things I've said about the Lost Immigrants herein. I have a strangely well-traveled blog.
And on the off chance I know anyone who has some amount of influence over the Wildflower Festival in Richardson, TX, um, might I suggest looking in to a Dallas-based band known as the Lost Immigrants? Seriously, I've been looking forward to seeing these guys live since I moved and it was a fantastic birthday present that this was the first time that I had free when they were doing a show within a reasonable traveling radius.
They're pretty damn good...
I'm endlessly impressed by the quality of my Panasonic DMC-ZS1.
Oh, and on the list of signs that the universe loves me and wants me to be happy: Texas finally managed to get the driver's license I applied for on 4/19 to me on my birthday. And the MacGruber movie. MacGruber! I don't know what more I could ask for...

Which definition of "next" Saturday are we using, here? May 29th or June 5?
May 29th. I wrote this on a Saturday, so the "next" made a lot more sense in context.
Actually, no. I wrote it on a Friday, then went to bed and posted it on a Saturday.
